Logistics with Purpose Classic

Team Rubicon has been in operation for 13 years, during which time they have worked in 1,100 different disasters or crises across the country and around the world. The premise of the organization is that military veterans have great experience that can be applied in a disaster relief context and that the military culture and ethos – a bias for action – is attractive to a much broader base than the veteran community. In this classic episode of Logistics with Purpose, Kristi Porter and Maureen Woolshlager are joined by David Burke, Chief Programs Officer at Team Rubicon and a Marine Corps veteran. In his current role, he spearheads Team Rubicon’s efforts to scale up the delivery of disaster services and life-saving humanitarian aid through safe, effective, and meaningful staff and volunteer implementation. Listen in as he talks about how he found his way from a career in the military to a leadership role at Team Rubicon.     This episode is hosted by Kristi Porter and Maureen Woolshlager.   Additional Links & Resources Check out all the great resources and information mentioned during the show: Watch this episode NOW on YouTube: https://youtu.be/7Ov6WAHZOUw Check out the episode transcript here: https://bit.ly/3LMOdlV Learn…

Tom Harvieux is the Vice President and Chief Supply Chain Officer at BJC Healthcare, one of the largest non-profit healthcare organizations in the United States. Tom is responsible for supply chain and logistics strategy, and his team’s achievements were recently recognized with an 8th place ranking in the Gartner Healthcare Supply Chain Top 25 list. In this classic Supply Chain Now episode, Tom joins hosts Scott Luton to discuss: How his 22 years of experience in the U.S. Army allowed him to build the leadership and supply chain experience he now applies in the private sector The changes he has observed in patient expectations about their healthcare experiences since the COVID-19 pandemic, and how BJC Healthcare is rising to the challenge The four pillars he and his team use to guide their work: price performance, service excellence, cost to serve, and team engagement   This episode is hosted by Scott Luton.…
