Hire Heroes USA – Supporting the Military Transition

In this episode of the Tango Tango podcast, host Lloyd Knight welcomes Ross Dickman, CEO of Hire Heroes USA. Ross shares his journey from West Point to Army aviation, flying AH-64 Apaches with the 1st Cavalry Division, and deploying to Camp Taji, Iraq. He reflects on lessons from the cockpit, an aide-de-camp tour at the Army Safety Center, and a return to West Point as a TAC officer—experiences that shaped how he leads and how he thinks about life after service.

Now leading Hire Heroes USA, Ross focuses on employment as the foundation of post-service well-being. He talks about practical tools: clear, targeted resumes, mock interviews with real hiring managers, technology that keeps people in the process, and a push toward skills-based hiring, along with the power of partnerships and volunteers, and why providing free, lifetime career support to veterans and military spouses still drives his mission today.

This episode is hosted by Lloyd Knight, and produced by Trisha Cordes, Joshua Miranda, and Amanda Luton.
