WEBINAR: Building an Antifragile Supply Chain: Dr. Schär’s Climb to Inventory Excellence

Headquartered in Italy, Dr. Schär leads the market in gluten-free foods, offering a wide range of products for special dietary needs. With over 1,750 employees globally, the company operates 18 sites in 12 countries, boasting 12 production plants and 26 distribution warehouses, delivering to over 100 countries worldwide.

During the Covid Crisis, Dr. Schär faced considerable demand and supply variability. The supply chain team at Dr. Schär was able to thrive in the midst of this uncertainty thanks in part to the digital supply chain transformation that had just been completed. With all the supply chain planning activities digitized with ToolsGroup, and with the help of the advanced machine learning and probabilistic capabilities within the platform, the team was able successfully plan sales forecasts, fulfillment, and replenishment for every SKU at every location, along with rough and finite capacity planning.

With the redesign of the Supply Chain Planning process Dr. Schaer was able to increase order fill rates by 1.5%, improve forecast accuracy by 3%, and enhance freshness upon shipment by 1.8%. Despite a larger product mix, heightened variability, and increased volumes, Dr. Schär has managed to optimize their inventory performance.

How do Supply Chains Stay Lean in a Disrupted World?

Disruptions have forced manufacturers to pivot from Just in Time to “just in case.” Manufacturers work closely with partners to better understand threats and opportunities and plan for the worst. But staying close to a larger and more diversified supply base adds complexity and risk. Manufacturers are left building up safety stock or expediting material, crushing profits. To drive transformation that delivers ROI, manufacturers need to be able to connect data across their technology and process silos, analyze that data to develop insights, and then drive action from those insights. Many manufacturers invest heavily in collecting and analyzing but miss the action step. The companies leading the digital manufacturing revolution are tuned into the right data and use it to drive their ongoing operations.   Check out this webinar with our friends from ServiceNow to learn: · Why supply chain innovation could become the biggest competitive differentiator between success and failure in the future · Managing supply chain exceptions in the time of disruption · How to manage large complex supplier logistics and customer ecosystems
