Camp Southern Ground featuring Lacy Gunnoe

In this episode of the Tango Tango podcast, host Lloyd Knight welcomes Lacy Gunnoe, director of wellbeing at Camp Southern Ground and a fellow Air Force veteran. Lacy shares his journey from growing up in rural West Virginia to becoming a pilot and instructor in the Air Force, flying everything from the T-37 tweet to KC-135 tankers. He opens up about the challenges and rewards of military life, deployments, and the leadership lessons that shaped his path.

Lacy then takes us behind the scenes at Camp Southern Ground, a unique nonprofit founded by musician Zac Brown with a vision of inclusion and healing. He explains how the camp serves veterans and children with innovative programs rooted in wellbeing, post-traumatic growth, and community. From the sustainable facilities and organic gardens to life-changing activities and personalized support, Lacy reveals how this special place is transforming lives and helping veterans find new purpose beyond the uniform.
